Description Technical Specs

Zbigniew Cybulski, hailed by critics as the Polish James Dean, is perfectly cast as an enigmatic stranger who has a profound impact on a small village. He jumps off a passing train and claims to have lived in the town during the German occupation. Even though no one remembers him, the community is quickly taken by their handsome guest. He seduces the innocent daughter of his host, miraculously cures two sick children, and teaches them all an entrancing dance, "the Salto." The spell fades, however, when a secret from his past catches up with him. In Polish with English subtitles.

Tadeusz Konwicki---Poland---1965---99 mins.
