Christmas Eve is anything but merry on a hot and humid night in Buenos Aires when everything seems to be going wrong. The trying times of several characters are followed in this comedy that manages to elicit warm emotions without resorting to cheap sentimentality or diminishing its dark undercurrents. Writer-director Lucho Bender's debut feature was nominated for 10 Argentinean Film Critics Association Awards, winning for Best First Film, and Best New Actor (Alfredo Casero).
