Bootleg Film
is a darkly comic road movie about two men, Tatsuo (Emoto Akira) and Kiyoshi (Shiina Kippei), who are the best of friends despite being on opposite sides of the law. Tatsuo is a retiring Yakuza, while Kiyoshi is a cop, and the two are on a road trip in order to attend the funeral of their mutual beloved, Fumiko. But while remembering her, the two begin a simmering resentment towards the other which begins to boil over when the two meet a young couple who discover a dead body in the back of Tatsuo and Kiyoshi's car--the body of Tatsuo's brother. In Japanese with English subtitles.
