MICHAEL PALIN COLLECTION, THE
Our Price: $24.98
Out of Stock

Three films starring Monty Python's Michael Palin. In Time Bandits (Terry Gilliam, 1981, 110 mins.), Palin, John Cleese, Sean Connery, and Shelley Duvall and are among the stars who keep popping up in the strangest of places throughout human history. It seems there are mysterious connections in time and space that enable the Time Bandits, a renegade band of dwarfs, to jump around and pillage history of its finest riches. Along the way, they accidentally pick-up a young boy, who isn't too enthused with his new cohorts' debauchery. A wild, extravagant adventure that, though quite dark in places, delights everyone. The Missionary (Richard Loncraine, 1982, 86 mins.) is a ribald comedy about a preacher (Palin) who's returned from Africa and enlisted to supervise a home for fallen women ("You mean, women who've tripped?"), and becomes entangled in a series of delicate situations. A Private Function (Malcolm Mowbray, 1985, 96 mins.), written by the gifted English dramatist Alan Bennett, is a sly post-World War II comedy about a contraband pig named Betty whose disappearance sets the frenzied plot in motion. Starring Michael Palin and Maggie Smith. "A wonderfully wacky [film that's] a comedy of the first order" (Vincent Canby).

Great Britain---1981-1985---286 mins.
