MILKY WAY / KID DYNAMITE
Our Price:
$14.95

Leo McCarey's
The Milky Way
(1936, 89 mins.) kicks off a terrific double bill of boxing comedies. Silent comedy hero Harold Lloyd stars as Burleigh Sullivan, a milkman who unwittingly drums up press when a pair of boxing champs are found passed out, presumably after double-teaming him in a drunken melee. It isn't long before Burleigh's been roped into a cash-making scheme to put him in the ring, but he's got a long way to go before he can even make it through a single round. Lloyd's performance is arguably his best in any talkie, and one of the funniest of the 1930s. The East Side Kids round out the bill with
Kid Dynamite
(1943, 73 mins.), a slapstick romp about a fighter's involvement in some very tricky business. Leo McCarey/Wallace Fox---USA---1936, 1943---162 mins.
