Rain, the South Korean pop superstar, stars as a lone ninja in this very violent tale of vengeance from director James McTeigue (V for Vendetta) and producers the Wachowski brothers. If you need a story, he takes on the very ninja clan that abducted and trained him to kill him as a boy. Adding pepper to the mix is Naomie Harris, an Interpol cop trying to nail the same clan for their mercenary work. But it really boils down to this: Rain rarely wears a shirt, and ninja foes rarely go un-eviscerated. Appropriately murky cinematography by Karl Walter Lindenlaub (Black Book).
