Lee Hirsch's widely promoted and controversial (over its rating) documentary visits five families whose children have been the subject of bullying by their peers. The film focuses largely on the victims of the violence, the implications of their suffering, and the inability and failure of the schools to address the widening problem. At times emotionally wrenching, Bully goes beyond raw documentation to strike at the larger issue of youth violence as a growing social problem.
