Despite what the trailers might lead you to believe, the Farrelly brothers’ take on the Three Stooges is more homage than horrorshow. And if you’re already a Stooge fan, it’s pretty damn funny. You have to hand it to Sean Hayes, Chris Diamantopoulos, and Will Sasso for stepping eyeballs first into the big finger-poking roles of Larry, Moe, and Curly. Set in present day, three baby-sized stooges were found on the steps of an orphanage. Raised by nuns, the trio develops a knack for physical violence and attracting misadventures. Like when the orphanage faces financial ruin, compelling Larry, Curly, and Moe (now maintenance men) to come up with the dough, whether it be by stumbling into a reality TV career or getting involved in a murder plot.
