An entertaining film biography of Ritchie Valens, the poor Mexican-American      farm laborer who became a singing sensation at age 17 thanks to the hit          singles "Donna," "Come On, Let's Go" and, of course, "La Bamba," before          meeting a premature demise. Lou Diamond Phillps plays Valens and the           supporting cast includes Elizabeth Pena, Esai Morales and Joe Pantoliano.      Singer-songwriter Marshall Crenshaw appears as Buddy Holly and rockabilly      revivalist Brian Setzer plays Eddie Cochran.
