A Jewish woman flees her native Germany and tries to find safety in Paris.       There, she finds refuge and romance in the home of a beautiful young French      woman. Their already risky relationship becomes a matter of life and death       when the Germans occupy the city. Keeping her lover in hiding, the determined  Parisian takes a job with a Nazi newspaper in order to keep her lesbianism and Jewish sympathies a secret.
