Alfred Hitchcock's macabre comedy about the manic efforts of a group of          Vermont residents to dispatch a dead body that refuses to stay buried. Framed    by the director's usual preoccupation with sin, guilt and redemption, with       some excellent performances by Edmund Gwenn, Shirley MacLaine and John         Forsythe.
