Mistakenly referred to as the sequel to Nang-Nak (Ghost Wife), which       also stars Winai Kraibutr, Snaker is actually an expansion of the long     lost Cambodian film Puos Keng Kang. Blending elements of the               horror-fantasy genre with a romantic folk tale, the film's mythic narrative    begins with an unhappily married peasant woman who is seduced by the Snake     King.  When her vengeful husband finds out, he slits her open, releasing       hundreds of snakes.  One escapes, however, and grows into a beautiful            girl...with a head of live serpents and a cursed future.  One of the rare      films made in Cambodia since the Khmer Rouge regime, Snaker is "a        landmark in the cultural redevelopment of the country" (Illuminated         Fai Sam Ang---Cambodia/Thailand---2001---110 mins.
