Long before the Basil Rathbone films, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's famous            detective made many screen appearances. Georges Treville played Holmes in        The Copper Beeches (France/Great Britain, 1912), included here, and        Eille Norwood took on the role dozens of times in British shorts of the early  '20s. This collection includes three of those films, all from 1921 and all     directed by Maurice Elvey: The Dying Detective, The Devil's Foot and     The Man with the Twisted Lip.
