This ultra-violent trilogy is based on real life folk hero Buford Pusser. Joe Don Baker stars in Walking Tall (Phil Karlson, 1973, 126 mins.) as the former wrestler and man of action bent on ridding his small Tennessee town of corruption and debauchery. In Walking Tall, Part 2 (Earl Bellamy, 1975, 109 mins.), Bo Svenson takes over the role of Sheriff Pusser, who's now out to avenge his wife's death at the hands of the mob. Svenson returns as the small-town American hero in the last, action-packed chapter of the trilogy, Walking Tall: The Final Chapter (Jack Starrett, 1977, 112 mins.).
