Description
This drama by South Korea's Kim Ki-Duk (
The Isle, Bad Guy
) follows the lives of three teenagers living in a small Korean town on the outskirts of an American military base in the 1970s. Chang-guk (Yan Dong-guen) is the son of a Korean bar waitress and an African-American soldier who longs to go to the U.S. Eun-ok (Ban Min-jeong), who has a cataract in her left eye, sells her body to an American soldier in exchange for money for eye surgery. The silent Ji-hum (Kim Young-min) is unable to deal with his disabled Korean War veteran father. None of these characters seem to realize that they have all been disabled by the Korean War. In Korean with English subtitles.
