Actor Matt Dillon (To Die For) makes his directorial debut with this noir-ish thriller set in the exotic and dangerous Cambodian underworld. Dillon plays a con man who heads east to escape legal wranglings in the U.S. and to find his business partner/mentor (James Caan). Once there, he becomes ensnared in a lethal web of deceit and murder. Beautifully filmed by Jim Denault (Boys Don't Cry), City of Ghosts is an ambitious first film for Dillon, who also co-wrote the screenplay with Barry Gifford (Wild at Heart). With Gerard Depardieu and Stellan Skarsgard.
