Description

This fascinating film tells the fantastic but true story of wealthy businessman, glamorous playboy and daring adventurer Charles Bedeaux, who rose to wealth and fame in the 1920s after making his fortune by inventing a new method for modernizing industry. Bedeaux, who was lampooned in Chaplin's Modern Times, hobnobbed with the rich, powerful and famous all over the globe, even in Nazi Germany. For leisure he planned an elaborate trek through the Canadian Rockies, to be documented for posterity by legendary cinematographer Floyd Crosby (High Noon). But soon Bedeaux's opulent world was in danger, as charges of collaboration and treason enveloped him.
