In between Petulia and The Three Musketeers, director Richard Lester set about making this very bleak comedy about the inhabitants of a post-apocalyptic Great Britain. Despite the great cast, including Rita Tushingham, Ralph Richardson, Peter Cook, and Dudley Moore, the film tanked. Luckily, The Bed-Sitting Room's reputation for being bizarre and hilarious has only grown since. Based on a play by John Antrobus and Spike Milligan.
