This "deeply humane Arab-Israeli drama" (Time Out), set in a melting pot neighborhood in Tel Aviv, introduces a handful of Jewish, Arab and Christian characters, who are all happy and hopeful, despite being a stone's throw away from violence, arrest, heartbreak, or death. Drawing on some neorealist aesthetics of old, first-time filmmakers Scandar Copti and Yaron Shani employed nonprofessional actors, location shooting, and improvisation to add grit to an intense story.
