Pro-Path Film Camp

This hands-on two week intensive camp sets young filmmakers on a path of professional development by advancing their skill-levels and experience. Students ages 10-15 with previous filmmaking knowledge and experience gain skills in script development, cinematography, directing, editing and special effects as they work collaboratively to produce more complex short film projects. Pre-requisite: previous completion of Facets Kids Film Camp I or approval of teacher based on application form and work samples.

The Facets Kids Film Camp summer enrichment program introduces kids ages 714 to the techniques, language and process of filmmaking. Film educators, filmmakers, and respected critics provide guidance in what it takes to understand, create and analyze film.

Through screenings, discussions, and creative, hands-on exercises that include making a movie and opinion writing, participants will learn:

  • Film appreciation, film vocabulary, and early film history.
  • Basic film production techniques (story development, types of shots, composition, screenwriting, storyboarding, acting, casting, lighting, sound, editing, directing, production safety and communication).
  • Written and verbal critique and review.
