three-day intensive workshop geared toward teens, Feminist Film Camp takes as
its starting point Lizzie Borden’s 1983 feminist sci fi classic Born in Flames. Campers will learn the
basic concepts and master the basic vocabulary of feminist film theory in a
small seminar setting and work with a group of feminist filmmakers and scholars
to produce their own film essays and calls for socio-political action that will
be posted on the Facets blog. The camp
will conclude with a public screening of Born
in Flames followed by a youth-moderated panel discussion.
