This is an exciting and revealing look at the women of the professional downhill mountain biking circuit. The film explores the way these thrill-seeking athletes defy conventional gender roles in a sport of dangerous speeds and multiple accidents. Hardihood also looks at the relationships among these bikers, many of whom are lesbians. Missy Grove, Marla Streb, and other top riders are profiled.
