Poland's most beloved actor, Jerzy Stuhr, directs and stars in this serious-minded comedy satire about a member of Solidarity who disappears to live as a monk during the communist era. Seventeen years later, his wife and son spot him singing at a street festival and expose his true identity. Thrown out of the monastery, he returns home to live in the garage and soon realizes his family is on the verge of collapse: his youngest daughter deals drugs; his oldest daughter strips on a reality show; his son works for a crooked politician; and his wife has a new lover. You know, life after communism as usual. "Reaffirms Stuhr's rep as an actor uncommonly skilled at expressing an Everyman's sentiments" (Robert Koehler, Variety). In Polish with English subtitles.
