Italian, Eastern European, and Korean immigrants converge at a bustling, multi-cultural Buenos Aires shopping mall in this witty and engaging slice-of-life comedy from Daniel Burman. Central to Burman's ensemble cast is Ariel (Daniel Hendler), a brooding young Polish-Jewish man who pursues a love affair with Rita (Silvina Bosco) while weathering the demands of his widowed shopkeeper mother (Adriana Aizenberg) and his tough-as-nails grandmother (Rosita Londnder). Burman chronicles the bustle and melancholy of the marketplace in a casual but penetrating style that illuminates the lives of his characters. "This is a small movie about a small world, but its modesty is part of what makes it durable and satisfying" (A.O. Scott, The New York Times)
