Kevin Bacon is tops in this musical about a city kid who moves to a small town where dancing has been banned and battles with the fire-and-brimstone minister in an effort to bring it back. It's as corny as it sounds, but the cast commits to the naivete and energy admirably. Lori Singer, John Lithgow Dianne Wiest, Chris Penn and Sarah Jessica Parker also star in the very popular feature, which was later turned into a Broadway musical.
