The story of the 16th century native Mexican, St. Juan Diego, and his encounters with the Virgin is interwoven with the present-day story of archaeologist Jose Maria (Aleix Albareda), who reassesses his own neglect of his wife and children, and his sister, Mercedes (Ivana Miño), who comes to terms with her desire for a home and family. As these stories unfold, Our Lady of Guadalupe reveals herself to each of the characters, guiding them toward the happiness and serenity they seek.
